Dual-core Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 goes on pre-order in the UK

The smartphone that many of you have been expecting eagerly is just about to hit the shelves in UK. The Samsung Galaxy Ace 2, which is supposed to bring dual-core power to the Android mid-range, just went on pre-order and it's carrying a pretty attractive price tag.

The asking price for the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 is ?249.98 and the smartphone is said to come in stock by April 23. That's certainly a long wait, but the price is really great for a dual-core smartphone with WVGA display.

Even better, the Galaxy Ace 2 will probably drop a further few quid a few months after it hits the shelves, so we are realistically looking at mid-range dual-core smartphones by the middle of the year.

Nokia Lumia 900 available for pre-order in the UK

UK retailer Clove has gotten official word from Nokia about the price of the Nokia Lumia 900 and they've put it up for pre-order. The 900 was first unveiled for AT&T but the global version of the phone was announced just a few days ago at the MWC.

The global Lumia 900 is pretty much the same handset as the AT&T version, with the notable exclusion of LTE. You still get a 4.3" ClearBlack AMOLED screen, 8MP camera with 720p video and 16GB of storage all encased in a polycarbonate unibody.

Anyway, the Nokia Lumia 900 is available for pre-order from Clove for ?530 (?635, $845). The exact date of availability is still not clear (all Clove knows is it's going to be "some time Q2"). They are also not sure what color options they'll get, but will release the info as soon as they have it.

Carphone Warehouse have a page for the Lumia 900 too, but that's only so you can sign up for a notification when the phone becomes available. They do list May as the month they expect the phone to be available.

Here's the preorder page if you're interested. Also, you can read our hands-on with the Lumia 900 if you're not familiar with it already.

Samsung Galaxy Beam goes on pre-order in the UK

The Samsung Galaxy Beam debuted at the MWC and we got to see its projector in action. It's an odd device, but there must be people interested in a phone/pico-projector combo as this is Samsung's third such device.

Here's some good news for the people that find the idea interesting - the Beam is available for pre-order right now for Unlocked-Mobiles.com. They expect to have the projector droid in stock in July.

They are asking ?385 ($610) for a SIM-free device. You might want to hold off on pre-ordering though - the site shows pictures of the new Galaxy Beam, but lists the specs for the old one (and they're wrong too).

Still, the pricing and availability info sounds plausible.
